Universities are exploring teaching in Second LifeĀ® enthusiastically. Corporate training, not so much.
It’s hard to find examples of workplace learning in Second Life.
(Granted, this is partly because corporate islands in Second Life are likely to be private. Also, corporations may be using other virtual worlds, such as those created by Forterra.)

We had a meeting the other day in Second Life and I noticed two tricks that really make meeting in Second Life much easier.

The Wall Street Journal reviewed quite positively Wagner James Au’s book, “The Making of Second Life.”
Some interesting notes from the book review:
o Second Life has about 600,000 active residents (from a total of 20 million registered users).
o As of April 2007, Second Life economic activity averaged about $1.5 million U.S. per day.
